Ok, for those that may not know...I am totally and completely obsessed with the Twilight series. I recently found out that there is officially going to be an convention in Chicago in April of '09. I'll be there!! I don't know with what money, but I'm definately going to save up!

Sorry for disappearing for so long. I doubt any of the 2 or 3 of the people that read my blog read it anymore lol. I've been somewhat busy since I got home from Cedar Point. I got my car! And the first day that I went job hunting I got hired. I work at Roly Poly on the weekends. Also, as you may know already, Nina had kittens! But unfortunately, as soon as they were old enough we got rid of them, and the other cats. It was just getting frustrating to not be able to have people over because most of the people we know have cat allergies. But, for my birthday, dad got me a puppy!
This is Izzy! She is a Shih Tzu and was born on July 8, making her 9 weeks old as of tomorrow.

I will try to write more often, but I'm not promising anything. lol.

On July 6th I got the worst news I've ever gotten. I received a text message from Timi telling me to call her...this is very unusual for the fact that I know she HATES talking on the phone. I call her and she tells me to sit down before she tells me anything....now I KNOW somethings wrong.
My second semester IU roommate and good friend from the Marching Hundred, Jessica Ruiz, died in a car crash on the 4th of July this year. Here's what her cousin wrote on her facebook about what happened that night...

"A witness has contacted the family and informed us that a 27 year old was driving a BMW and he wasn't from the area. He had ran the witnesses off the road so they chase him down to get a license plate number. The said they were going 90mph just barely keeping up with him. He took the curve going around 120 mph when he struck Jessica's car. Jessie's car was launched air born and turn around in the field. The witness ran to Jessica's car and told her they were calling 911 but they couldn't find a pulse. The lady stayed with Jessie holding her head in case she was just unconscious, and then her car burst into flames. The couple broke into her passenger side window to get Jessica out but the engine was in Jessica's lap and there was no way to get her out or around the engine. They went back to the driver side window and Jessie was smashed between her steering wheel and the driver's side door and the door wouldn't budge. There was nothing they could do.

The couple said the man that killed Jessica had alcohol on his breath and wasn't aware that he had even hit Jessica until he saw that his own car was wrecked. He was air lifted to the hospital but only sustained minor scrapes and bruising."

I don't even know where to begin on how amazing Jessica was. I met her last year in the Marching Hundred. She played piccolo so I saw her a lot for the fact that the piccolos hung out with the clarinets a lot. Right before the second semester began she told me I could move in with her. She knew that I didn't like my roommate and offered the empty bed to me, rather than keeping the room to herself. Now I knew that she was from Syracuse, IN...but we found out through talking that we had known each other way before last year. It turned out that she played in the orchistra with me in 5th grade. There were nights where we wanted to sleep, but we would just stay up and talk. I remember one night we talked until about 5 in the morning, about everything...I believe the conversation started about shoes lol. I know I haven't had many roommates, but she was the best one I've had.
I made a short video/slide show thingy in memory of her. I didn't have very many pictures of her, so I used the ones that I had and then the ones that people had tagged her in on Facebook. The song I chose is called "Journey to the Past" from the movie Anastasia. I chose this song because I remember that she loved this movie, and this was her favorite song from it, if I'm not mistaken.

More coasters and some rides

As I promised a couple of days ago, here's more pictures of coasters, and some rides.

OK, so it's just one more coaster, but it's a good one :) This is Wicked Twister. It goes back and fourth..this is just one of the spikes.

This has a couple of rides in it, but I'll get to the other one later. The one with the cars hanging down is the sky ride..nothing too exciting. It pretty much just gets you from one end of the park, to the other. I only really ride it to get some cool pictures.
This one is called Monster. I used to call it the Octopus....if that lets you know what it is. It used to be one of my favorites.
This is the Power Tower (the other ride in the picture of sky ride). It has four poles with cars on them. Two of them (the red side) shoot you up in the air. The other two (the green side) take you up slowly and then drop you.
This is Skyhawk. One of my favorites !! It has two giant swings that ..well...swing really high.
This is MaXair, another one of my favorites. It swings AND spins at the same time :)

This one is a classic. The Farris Wheel (spelling?). No explanation needed.

This is another one that you should know about. This one is one of, I think, 4 Merry-go-rounds in the park (one of which is called Cedar Downs and reminds me of Mary Poppins haha, I'll have to get a picture and post it later)

Dinner with friends

So, I finally got to go to a nice dinner with some friends, well with CJ and some of his friends. I got to meet new people though. We went to eat at a place called Mon Ami. It was really good (but really expensive). CJ made a cake for his friend Michelle's birthday. It turned out really nice, and it tasted good :)
We had a great time. We were there for 3 hours and didn't even realize it lol

COME PLAY MY GAME!!

Ya, that's about what my day consists of...or just serving the people that are yelling that. For those of you that may not know, I'll tell you what my job consists of. This is mostly just because I'm bored out of my mind, not for your entertainment lol.

Depending on what area I'm in (which for now I'm in area 3...in the back of the park) I see what game I'm working, if I am working a game at all, and I go check out the cash bag and box for that game. I count the money and make sure there's $100 in fives and $100 in ones. I then take the 10 minute stroll out to area 3.
Now depending on what game I'm working, some of the other games may already be up and running. Most of the games in area 3 open at 10 when the park opens, but then some of them open at 11:30...why?... I don't know. But, if I was working second shift, then of course all of the games would be open and I would just be letting someone go at 2 or 4 in the afternoon. Anyway, I go and wait for my supervisor, Andy or Kati, to open the gate for my game and then I would proceed to put my flash up. "Flash" is just a fancy term we use for the stuffed animals that hang by hooks to attract people to our game. Hanging flash isn't as easy as you would think it is. It all has to be perfectly straight and have a pattern to it, because you know that's what everyone is looking for, a pattern in the stuffed animals, right. So, now that my flash is up, I have to make sure all the counters are clean and bug free, nobody wants to play a game with bugs on it. And now the game is open :)
Now it's time to make money. We have to yell at the top of our lungs to get people to play our games, and you have to yell at everyone...or you get yelled at. So, even if you know they won't play, you have to try to convince them that your game is the best one there (or the easiest).
And then there's closing a game. The last hour of the park being open goes by very slow, because at any moment in that hour your supervisor could tell you to do last calls, which is the last call for people to play the game. Usually you just yell out once and then immediately close the game. closing is a good deal easier than opening. You take down the flash, throw it on the floor, and put your money up. Then you take your money back to cash control and clock out, you're done.
Now for the "behind the scenes." When you're not working in a game you're an "extra" or a "breaker." Being a breaker is pretty cool, because you're giving people breaks. So, you're only spending 30min. to an hour in each game. Time goes pretty quick as a breaker. The only downfall is .. you take your break last..if you get a break (you wouldn't get a break because you would usually get sent home an hour early). As and extra you do a lot more. You have to make sure every game has enough prizes to give out (because they can't go back and get their own), give everyone water, give bathroom breaks (because we give them a lot of water), keep the back rooms clean (it can get very annoying, you get it all clean then someone wrecks it completely, so they ask you to do it again...), and then do whatever the supervisors ask you to do. Being an extra can be very annoying...you're the first ones to be sent home.

Well, I'm going to go back to being bored. I can't think of anything else to tell you about my job, you can ask questions if you want to..

Busy, busy, busy..and some history :)

Ya. So I haven't written for over a month....sorry about that. I got really busy with work and for a while I was just going to give up the whole blogging thing. Then I decided to get back on track...it would give me something to do at least.

So the last time I wrote, I was getting ready to move in with 15 other girls. Well I met a girl here and we decided to be roommates, so I moved into the dorms instead. I later found that this was a really good move, but I'll get into this later. For a few days we were the only ones in the room for 3 and we hoped it stayed that way. We also found out that because the park wasn't open yet, people were very loud....I mean, they still are that way, but not as late into the night because we actually work now lol. Anyways, after about 3 days our third roommate moved in and she was really cool, she saved us from our boredom. She brought a TV, Playstation, Guitar Hero, singing games, and a fridge...ya, so we accepted her right away :) We actually became pretty good friends. It was fun, we went into the park before it opened and watched the rides as they were test running them. We goofed around while we still could. Well, after a few weeks, Megan, my first roommate, decided that she liked the Bayside Apartments better so she moved in with a friend, and a day later Star, my second roommate, moved out too......
Don't get me wrong...we're still friends. Star works in games with me so I see her all the time :)
Megan works in the stores so I go visit her sometimes.
I've made some other really good friends here too. My best friend here, CJ, showed me around the park, the best rides to ride, how to get free food :), and so on. He also made sure I rode all of the coasters. I mean, that's why I came here right, they have the best coasters here, no joke. I couldn't even tell you which one is my favorite.

This one is Top Thrill Dragster. It was the tallest and fastest, but another park recently opened a ride that beat it. Anyway, it is 420ft. high, and it goes 120 MPH. The ride only lasts 17 seconds and is known for it's 4 hour lines.

This one is Millennium Force. This isn't the best picture I have of it, but it was the tallest before they built Dragster. It was built in 2000.

This is Maverick, the newest of all the coasters. It was just built last year and won awards for being the best new coaster in 2007. It's drop is a 95 degree angle (as shown in the picture) and halfway through the ride you enter a tunnel and get shot out of it at 70 MPH.
This one is the Mantis. It's the only stand up coaster in Ohio. It also has the tallest loop in Cedar Point.

This one is Gemini. It's a dueling coaster. If you don't know what that means, it has two trains that run at the same time side by side, and they race. It's pretty cool to watch (which is what I get to do all day because I work across from it lol). It just recently celebrated it's 30th anniversary.
This one is the Raptor. It's a fun one to ride, but I think it's also one of the noisiest lol. It's not necisarilly one of my favorites because I always come off of it with a headache.
This one is the Iron Dragon. Along with the Corkscrew, this one is probably one of the most boring roller coasters in the park... lol

As you can see, I'm also learning a lot about the history of the park. :) That happens when you spend every day here for months at a time.
There's 10 other coasters, but I don't have pictures of them on my computer yet. I'm sure I'll get them posted when I get them uploaded. The only thing that really has been going on is work, there's nothing too exciting about that. Maybe I'll post later about some of the cool rides here (non-roller coaster ones :) ).

So, tomorrow is when everything starts getting interesting. My dad and I arrived in Sandusky, OH today and checked into our hotel (which is pretty nice) and just hung out. Tomorrow is going to be busy though. I have five stops to make tomorrow. The first one is the human resource office to check in and find out how to get to everything else. Then I have to go to and employee office to sign up for basic training. After that I have to go sign up for training for my department. Then I have to go get fitted for my uniform. There I'll get 2 uniforms that I can exchange, and I'm also going to purchase a hat, rain wear, and a sweatshirt that I'll be allowed to wear while I'm at work. And last but not least I go to move into my housing: an apartment with 15 other girls......only 2 bathrooms, this will get interesting...lol.
I probably won't get any pictures up while I'm there, I've lost my camera cord, and couldn't find it, so I have no way to upload pictures until I get home. I'll have a lot of facebook albums that's for sure lol :)

So, ya, I knew from the beginning that I wasn't good at this whole blogging thing lol.
I don't have any art to post this time, but I will after Wednesday. I'm going to post the last paint project and hopefully all of the stuff from the beginning that I didn't take pictures of. I say hopefully because I'm still hoping that my art teacher hands everything back....
I do however have pictures from the TBS/KKPsi banquet. I promise that I won't put too many :).
I can say that I loved my first banquet and I regret not going last year. I had a blast!

So.... I should be way more tired than I am right now...

Yesterday I slept until about 3 in the afternoon....and then on and off until 4. So ya, I stayed up ALL night last night, I've been awake for more than 24 hours and I'm not that tired...it doesn't make sense.

These next few weeks are going to be really busy, between TBS, classes, finals, Little 5 week, and Psychology experiments...I'm going to have no time. It's all going to be worth it in the end though, I'm going to be at Cedar Point all summer :)

I didn't really do much but go to class today so I don't really have too much to write about. I think this is going to be a short blog. Sorry....

ok, so I've been slacking in the blogging department....told you this would happen.
Anyways....I don't really know if I have the time to talk about EVERYTHING that has happened since the last time i wrote....

As for this week, it was ok. I feel like I'm not spending as much time as I should with Timi.....because every time I do I have such a good time!!! going to see Sweeney Todd was pretty cool, i think i had more fun at the IMU before the movie and whatnot....we got some good pictures :) (see above)

So today Andrew treated me to a very late Valentine's Day for certain things that happened before the actual day.
So we had a bunch of fun. We went to the mall. He got me two stuffed frogs and some candy :)

So after getting the basic stuffed animals and candy, we went to the game store where Andrew could look at stuff that wasn't going to bore him to death. So there he bought a game for Steven, himself, and ... Me!
I haven't played it yet, but hopefully it's as good as the playstation version. When we got bored there, we ate. Then the rest of the time was spend in Target...well..the toy section anyway. This is where Andrew (determined to not spend any more money) found the Nerf dart guns... He sat there and stared at them, he wanted them so bad. So he decided to buy,not only one, but two of the guns (one for me) and extra darts.

So, this made an interesting night when we got back. We started out having a dart gun fight in the hall ( I won :)). When we got tired of that, we just started shooting random things in the room.

We also watched the Jungle Book. That was fun.

So on another note.. I finished and took pictures of my clay project in art class today. The point of the project was to take two objects and make them into something that doesn't exist. I made a TV dog. Here's a few pictures of it.The tail is the plug-in cord.

I made a little bone shaped remote for it at the last minute.
And of course the head was a television.

So, I guess I'm just not the writer type. Every time I think I need to write a blog, nothing comes to mind, so I don't write, hence me not writing for a few days.

So in the past few days, I've done nothing really. I came back to Bloomington, well , I had to.

Today I had a Philosophy exam. I wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for Andrew. THANK YOU! =)
I feel pretty good about how I did, apparently I'm better in that class than I thought I was (with an A- on my paper and all lol)

So, I haven't really done anything picture worthy for a while, and I haven't uploaded the pictures that I have, so I'll just post a picture of me and Nina =)

So, right now it's pouring outside. I go home, it's nice and sunny, and when I come back, when I have to walk outside all the time, it rains all day... how fair is that lol.

Well I'll let that be all for now, I'll post more tomorrow when more exciting stuff happens.

Back Home Again

So, I came back home again today, and for the first time in over a week, I'm going to be waking up before 10 AM...Ya, welcome home right...But it's all for good. My dad and I are going to IHOP(YAY) and then going to get memory put on my computer(SUPER YAY!).

Tonight I'm sleeping on the couch too. My room is FREEZING.. no reason why..oh well.

btw, right now I"m on my dad's computer, his new laptop, which is 10 times better than mine..and the same price..but oh well..

So, I dont' really have much to write about today, because, well, I've done nothing.
I'm just sitting here waiting for Psychology class to get here.

Hopefully sometime soon I should be hearing from Cedar Point about a job, I called today and they couldn't do anything because their system was being slow :(

I think that Cedar Point for a summer job would be alot better than Telemarketing YUCK!
Plus, i get to ride rollercoasters YAY!

Well, like I said, I really don't have anything going on today, so I'll get back to facebook or whatever I decide to do for the next who knows how long.

confusing

So, I'm still at that stage where I have absolutely no idea what I want to do. I think i know what I want to change my major to this time, but I know that I do not want to keep math ed. I'm thinking of doing something in photography, that's kind of sticking for now, but then dad is all " you need to have a backup, and of course he's pushing education like it's the only thing out there. I know I would be a good teacher, and I do still kind of want to teach, but I know that it's not my only option.

Anyways, I can't wait for spring break, not for the whole working thing, but just for a break from school. I mean, the money after work would be great, but I don't know about actually working lol.

You know how they say " you don't know what you have until you lose it?" Well I haven't really lost anything, but not getting to see my friends back home every day, heck, every time I go back home, has taken a toll on me. I mean, I love my friends here to death, don't get me wrong (I <3 you Timi!!) but I just miss all of my friends back home.

Well since I'm going with the whole random flow of things, why not talk about next year lol. All I can say, is it's going to be the best!! I'm in the dorm I wanted to be, I'll be oh track(hopefully) with my major, and my best friend is my roommate!It's so funny, we keep talking about how we're going to get absolutely nothing done because we goof around so much. Oh, also next semester is marching season =)
